Intro to Welding

In this two session class gain a basic understanding  of welding. The first session covers applications, technique, prep and safety. Observe demonstration 
of some MIG welding (wire-feed) and TIG welding (sometimes called Heli-arc) and try-it-out.

Second session will focus on  projects  that students bring in . Specific information for project parameters will be provided in the first session. Cost of materials for projects made in the second session will be worked out on a per project basis.

Class is limited to five students.

Instructor Rob Tickle runs Industrial Art & Design (IAD), a small prototyping shop in northeast Minneapolis that does custom fabrication using a variety of processes and materials. IAD has completed projects for clients ranging from university researchers and engineers to local architects and artists. Rob's previous background was in experimental research in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Minnesota.
